Perhaps a misnomer, men are not famous for being Freemasons,
as the fraternity is not a thing to promote fame. It does, however,
attract men of greatness and aspiration, which in time leads them
to fame. One thing is sure, the fraternity of Freemasonry is an
inspirational subject whose philosophy lends itself to progress,
democracy, responsibility, motivation, and education, and these
are each hallmarks of great men. Some past famous masons include
George Washington, John Wayne, Buzz Aldine and Winston Churchill.
In this section, we present a smattering of Famous Masonic brethren.
Men, for a variety of reasons, have found their way into the Fraternity
of Freemasonry for many centuries. The great Fraternity has been a beacon
drawing men of all stations to it‘s ranks, not for personal gain
or elevation in society, but for exploration of the unknown, and the quest
to discover something about themself. Each has sought answers to those
ineffable questions that brought them to the doorway of Freemasonry.
Listed here is a short list of men who have been appointed by history
as prominent and note-worthy for their actions in the world. A word of
caution however with this list, they are not nominated to be spokesman
for the gentle craft, but rather history has instead nominated them for
greatness when they just happen to be Freemason too. It is a lesson in
how the great men of history have sought out the gentle craft.
